How To Manage Social Media Posts as a Business

If you’re in business, you’re in marketing. The capability to produce all the products and services in the world comes to nothing if nobody knows you exist. Therefore, every business has an existential need to get their message out.

Larger businesses can farm this process out to agencies, or companies that specialise in delivering targeted messages to specific audiences. For smaller businesses this is often not suitable, for a variety of reasons, chief among which will be price. Spending £300,000 a year at an advertising agency when your annual revenue is £500,000 is perhaps ill-advised (though I’m sure they’d put a positive spin on it).

So, what’s a person to do?

One of the perks of being Softools, a no-code App platform, is we can whip up an App for pretty much anything we want. So, we decided to create an App to manage our social media posts. Within an hour or two, we had come up with a pragmatic way of working, and created our ‘Media Hopper’ application, to help us capture and manage our social posts, enabling the team to contribute and collaborate effortlessly.

First, we come up with a concept, or an idea to be produced. We then outline the key points to cover, and how, depending on the level of complexity required, and what the originator has in mind. Next, we manage the production, review, and publication of the item using the three selection Fields at the top. The status of the post, as defined in these stages, also determines the future of the content; when it’s posted, whether it can be re-used, or whether it’s a one-time event, like a partnership announcement:

There’s more we’re planning to do with this App; charts to map post cadence, provide metrics on the frequency and quality of particular posts, track analytics, and more. And that’s the fantastic thing about no-code apps - I came, I saw, I built. Veni, Vidi, Softools.

Think you could benefit from something like this, or the freedom to create what you need, when you need it, in the way you need it? Email us at info@softools.net to discuss your needs.
